Does Scorch and the WorshipTogether.com downloadable sheet music work on Mac?
Yes, the Scorch software does work on Macs! We recommend using the Safari browser.
What is Sibelius? What is Scorch?
Sibelius is the world's best-selling music notation software for Windows. It helps you write, play, scan, edit and print scores, and even publish them on the Internet.
Scorch is the free software which lets you view, play, customise and print Sibelius scores on the Internet, all from within your favorite browser. (You don't need Sibelius yourself.)
* Scorch makes scores interactive - play, turn pages, transpose, change instruments and print
* Scores automatically download in moments
* Realistic MIDI playback with expression, stereo and reverb
* Works seamlessly within a web page
I've installed Scorch, but all I see is a box where the music should be.
If you are having trouble with the scorch plugin you can download the latest version here.
When viewing Sheet Music, I get the error message: "The score is corrupt or missing"
This error message appears when you are using a very old version of Scorch to view a file saved from a newer version of Sibelius or Sibelius Internet Edition. Try upgrading to a newer version of Scorch.
How do I playback songs with Scorch?
Scorch does not make use of OMS or FreeMIDI for playback purposes. To hear playback, your computer's internal sound card or Quicktime must be activated.
Why can I only hear the first 30 seconds of the piece?
Due to copyright restrictions, we are only allowed to play the first 30 seconds of any copyrighted piece of music.
Can I save Scorch Files?
Scorch downloads cannot be saved. However, the link you are sent with your purchase will last indefinately allowing you to go re-print you sheet music in any key you would like later.
Scorch cannot be used to create files in any format (other than temporary files created and required by your computer's operating system), including, without limitation, screen capture files, files generated from the Software's playback, graphics files and print files, for any purpose. The License Agreement that must be accepted to download this plugin does not allow any form of copyright infringement.
Why do I lose transpositions I make in the piece when I move off the page?
Transpositions will not persist past the page on which they were made. That is because a transposition takes place solely within the Scorch software and each Scorch file is read-only. Thus, no changes will ever remain after the Scorch file has been unloaded from the page. If you transpose a piece while first viewing it, then decide to buy it, when you come back to the piece of music to print it, you must redo your transposition.
Why can I only see the first page of the music?
We show you the first page of any piece of music so that you can be assured that the piece you're buying, is indeed the piece you want. However, all pages after the first require you to buy that piece and print it out. Once the piece has been purchased, all pages are viewable.
Can I Use Scorch with Linux?
There are no immediate plans for a Linux version of Scorch.

Printing Your Sheet Music |
|
 |
|
Notes print as text characters / font problems
Try changing your printer's font settings. For instance, in Windows try printing again but click Properties in the Print dialog box, then try changing options which affect font printing, such as Print fonts as graphics or Print TrueType as graphics (usually on the Font tab of the Properties dialog box).
Tried to print several copies but it didn't work.
When buying a score you can't print more copies than you have paid for. The Scorch plug-in restricts you to printing 1 copy at a time. To print multiple copies just repeat the printing process on your computer.
Web page printed correctly but with no music or staves on it.
To print, don't click Print at the top of your browser window, or Print in the File menu, or type Command-P or Ctrl+P - these will print the web page, not the score. Instead, find the score again and click the Print button on the Scorch 2 toolbar (immediately above the music).
The music doesn't fit on the paper or is cropped off
Find the score again, click Scorch's Print button, then on the Print dialog box switch on the Fit to Paper option. (On Mac this is in the Sibelius area of the dialog box.) Then print.
Staff lines and note stems missing, uneven or have rounded ends.
Find the score again, click Scorch's Print button, then on the Print dialog box change the Substitute Lines option. (On Mac this is in the Sibelius area of the dialog box.) Then print.
Arpeggios (vertical wavy lines) or glissandos (diagonal wavy lines) mispositioned.
Find the score again, click Scorch's Print button, then on the Print dialog box change the Substitute Arpeggios, gliss., etc. option. (On Mac this is in the Sibelius area of the dialog box.) Then print.
Alternate pages are missing
You set the score to print only odd/even-numbered pages. Find the score again, click Scorch's Print button, then on the Print dialog box choose the Normal and All options. (On Mac these are in the Sibelius area of the dialog box.) Then print.
Keyboard braces missing or wrong size
Find the score again, click Scorch's Print button, then on the Print dialog box change the Substitute Braces option if there is one. (On Mac this is in the Sibelius area of the dialog box.) Then print.
No paper came out of the printer
Check to make sure that your printer is switched on, contains paper and is plugged into your computer. If it is, it is probably not set up correctly. Please consult your computer's or printer's manual, or see "If there is still a problem" below.
My printer ran out of paper
With most printers, don't turn off the printer - just feed in some more paper and it should continue printing.
If there is still a printing problem...
If you have tried the above solutions to printing problems without success, check if you have the latest driver for your printer.
You should be able to download the latest driver from the printer manufacturer's web site:
Canon printers: http://www.canon.co.jp/download-e.html
Epson printers: http://support.epson.com/filelibrary.html
HP printers: http://www.hp.com/cposupport/eschome.html
Others: use your web browser to search for the manufacturer.
After downloading the driver, save it somewhere easy to find, such as on your desktop. Then install the new driver.
To install the new driver on Windows, click the Start button at the bottom left of the screen, then Settings, then Printers. Then double-click Add Printer and follow the instructions.
When asked for the manufacturer and model of your printer, if you have just obtained a new driver (e.g. by downloading it), click Have Disk... and find the new driver file you downloaded.
When you've finished, find the score again, click Scorch's Print button and print it to see if it works. You may need to consult this web page again to adjust the way it prints.
