These songs have traveled the world without ever really being recorded and continue to have a life beyond the ministry itself. Today, The Foundry Guys (Ross Huskinson,Tom Lane, Scott MacLeod, and Anthony Skinner) all lead new ministries and continue to write worship music.

Several years ago, Worship Together recognized the anointing on the Foundry Songs and had a deep desire to introduce them to the larger church for congregational worship. Now with the reach of worshiptogether.com, we hope to fulfill this vision.

In the late 80's a small group of musician/artist friends in Nashville, Tennessee formed a Thursday night prayer group. Their agenda was encouragement, prayer, worship and studying the Word. In this setting God met and challenged these young men through words they'd long read in the Bible but barely understood. It soon became apparent to them that God wanted everyone (including artist/writers) to participate very practically in meeting the needs of people, especially the poor and broken. To that end they began to collect donations and hold outreaches on the streets of Nashville. This eventually led to their purchase of a building in the inner-city. The building, having originally been a Foundry, was appropriately named The Foundry and opened in 1992.

As part of their outreach, every Friday night people from both the church and the street came to the Foundry for music from guest songwriters and artists. But it was the late-night worship which drew most of the crowd and worship often ran into the early morning hours. This late-night worship was led by four guys from the original prayer group and they became known as The Foundry Guys. There was a unique freedom in worship that God used to touch and inspire hearts. Many songs were born spontaneously during these worship times and over the years they grew into a catalog known as The Foundry Songs.
