Recently, I‘ve been thinking a lot about the way we use our eyes and our time. I’ve heard various people speak on this theme and it resonated deeply with me. What we ‘behold’ in life really does determine who we become. We can be fascinated by so many things that actually harm us. But our highest calling is found in being captivated by God.
Verse 1 is a reflection on His incredible character, and then Verse 2 unpacks how we are changed by beholding Him. The Bridge is a declaration that no one could be as beautiful as He is.
It’s a love song that resonates with our identity as His Bride. He doesn’t only call us servants, friends and children – He calls us His intimately loved and cherished Bride. As we receive more of His tender love, and see more of the beauty of His heart, we become captivated by Him.
