What’s A Fakebook?
A fakebook is a collection of lead sheets that have been transcribed manually or otherwise copied.
A song in a fakebook contains the melody line, basic chords, and lyrics, the minimal information for musicians to make an impromptu arrangement of a song, or more easily said, "faking it".
