Just when you’re tempted to think that the worship wave has crested, that the worship wagon has lost a wheel and is parked on the side of a long, dusty road, someone unique comes along. Someone who shatters the myth that worship as a response to God’s grace could ever, ever be passing fancy.
Her name is Vicky Beeching, and her full-length debut, Yesterday, Today, and Forever just might change the way you think about worship.
An Oxford-educated songwriter who’s been writing worship songs for the church for more than 10 years, Vicky’s unique brand of theology-rich worship that rocks stands up to the innovation, depth and passion of contemporaries like Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, Tim Hughes and David Crowder. And yet, something sets her apart. Perhaps it’s her singular focus that belies her years. Perhaps it’s her intuitive feminine heart that relates to worshipers with such sensitivity. Perhaps it’s her willingness to take risks while holding on to her life mission: to grow in intimacy with Jesus.
You’ll hear this and so much more on Yesterday, Today and Forever.
“This album draws together my songwriting journey so far, on one record,” Vicky says. “It chronicles my walk with God and the different glimpses I’ve had of His character and ways. Many of the lyrics are rooted in the Bible, like “Search Me” based on Psalm 139 or “Yesterday” based on Hebrews 13:8. Listening to the whole album is nostalgic for me, as every song reminds me of a particular season of life. I wrote the songs out of the overflow of my heart, but also with the wider Church in mind, hoping that they would be accessible for others to sing too.”
