God Rest Ye Marry Gentleman (Comfort And Joy)

God rest ye merry gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay
Remember Christ our Saviour
Was born on Christmas Day
To save us all from Satan's pow'r
When we were gone astray
O tidings of comfort and joy
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy

From God our Heavenly Father
A blessed Angel came;
And unto certain shepherds
Brought tidings of the same,
How that in Bethlehem was born
The Son of God by Name.
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy

Joy in the waiting
Joy in the weeping
Joy in the seeking
Comfort and joy
Joy in believing
Joy in receiving
Joy never leaving?
Comfort and joy
Joy everlasting
Joy never fading?
Joy overflowing??
Comfort and joy?

From manger low to risen throne
He reigns forevermore
The curse of sin is overthrown
The grave has lost the war
So lift your voice, let all proclaim
The Christ we now adore
O tidings of comfort and joy
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
